Home Rocks
We all know that the rock is right. Locals everywhere! They and the mountains and canyons you can not help. We sipped, we sat on them, and we poured them out of our deals. However, to correct a definite definition … this is not something we all will be doing.

Llanite

Llanite is a rare type of igneous rock that is primarily composed of blue quartz, potassium feldspar (orthoclase), and biotite mica. It is known...
Camptonite lamprophyre (Mesozoic, 100-200 Ma; Campton Falls, Grafton County

Lamprophyre

Lamprophyre is ultrapotassic igneous rock that is occurring as dikes, lopoliths, loccoliths, stocks and small intrussion. It is alkaline silica-undersaturated mafic or ultramafic rocks...

Chalk

Chalk is a soft, white, highly porous biochemical sedimentary rock composed almost entirely of calcite (CaCO₃) derived from the remains of coccolithophores, microscopic marine...

Coal

Coal is a non-clastic sedimentary rock. They are the fossilized remains of plants and are in flammable black and brownish-black tones. Its main element...

Marl

Marl or the other name Marlstone is a calcium carbonate non-clastic sedimentary rock. It has containt variable of clays and silt. The dominant carbonate...

Granodiorite

Granodiorite  is a phaneritic-textured intrusive igneous rock similar to granite, but containing more plagioclase feldspar than orthoclase feldspar. According to the QAPF diagram, granodiorite has a greater than 20% quartz by volume, and between 65% to 90% of the feldspar is plagioclase. A greater amount of plagioclase would designate the rock as tonalite.

Indigo Gabbro (Mystic Merlinite)

Indigo Gabbro, also known as Mystic Merlinite, is a crystal that belongs to the igneous rock family. It is a unique and visually striking...

Marston Marble

Marston Marble is a unique and highly ornamental type of fossiliferous limestone, valued for its artistic and aesthetic qualities. It is characterized by very...

Chrysanthemum Stone

Chrysanthemum stone is a unique and captivating mineral with a rich history, valued for its striking appearance and intricate patterns. This stone is not...
Garnetite (garnet skarn)

Skarn

Skarn is coarse-grained metamorphic rocks that forms by a metasomatism. Also called tactites. Skarn tend to be rich in calcium-magnesium-iron-manganese-aluminium silicate minerals that also...

Syenite

Syenite, any of a category of intrusive igneous rocks basically composed of an alkali feldspar and a ferromagnesian mineral. A unique group of alkali syenites is characterized by the presence of a feldspathoid mineral inclusive of nepheline, leucite, cancrinite, or sodalite (see nepheline syenite). Chemically, syenites comprise a slight amount of silica, incredibly big amounts of alkalies, and alumina. The call become first used by Pliny the Elder.

Evaporites

Evaporites are a type of sedimentary rock that forms through the evaporation of water, leaving behind dissolved minerals and salts. These rocks typically consist...
